This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you read halityesil.com or leave a comment. The legal details are in the KVKK Privacy Notice and cookies are covered in the Cookie Policy.
The short version#
- No accounts, no newsletter, no ads, no social media pixels.
- You don't need to give any information to read the site. Like every web server, ours keeps technical access logs.
- If you comment, your name and comment are published. Your email address is never published or shared.
- Your IP address is not stored with comments; only a keyed hash (HMAC) of it is.
- Google Analytics loads only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you decline, no request is sent to Google.
- Fonts and all other site files are served from this site's own server.

What we process, why, and for how long#

When you leave a comment#

Every comment is approved by hand before it appears. To stop floods of comments, a hash of your IP address is kept in a separate counter for at most one hour.
Comments are kept for as long as they are published. Write to us if you want a comment removed. Comments marked as spam or moved to trash are deleted within 30 days.
If you click "Accept" in the cookie banner#
Google Analytics 4 loads and sends visit statistics (which pages were read, approximate location, device type and similar) to Google. The cookies it uses and their lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy. Google deletes this data after 14 months. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.
Preferences kept in your browser#
Your light/dark theme choice and your cookie decision are kept only in your browser's local storage (localStorage) and are never sent to the server. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Embedded content#
Some posts embed content from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com), Vimeo, CodePen or GitHub Gist. This content loads from the provider's own servers, so the provider sees your IP address and browser details and may use cookies under its own policy. It loads only on the posts that contain it.
If you email us#
Your email address and message are used only to reply to you and kept for 2 years after the correspondence ends.
Who receives your data#
- Hosting: the site runs on a server operated by Globya Bilgi Teknolojileri in Hetzner Online GmbH's data centre in Falkenstein, Germany.
- Google: only if you accepted analytics cookies, through Google Analytics.
- Embedded content providers: only when you open a page that contains their content, as described above.
- Public authorities: only when the law requires it.
Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
International transfers#
Because the server is in Germany, data processed by the site is stored outside Türkiye. If you accept Google Analytics, data is sent to Google's servers, including in the United States.
The legal basis for these transfers under Article 9 of the KVKK will be explained here and in the KVKK Privacy Notice after legal review.
Security#
The site is served over HTTPS only. IP addresses in comment and rate-limit records are stored as keyed hashes, never in plain form. The admin area is protected by a password and login attempt limits, and the site's code and configuration live outside the public web folder.

Your rights under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (access, rectification, erasure, objection and more) and how to exercise them are explained in the KVKK Privacy Notice. The quickest way is to email kvkk@halityesil.com.
Changes#
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page and the date at the top will change. If the way we use cookies changes significantly, the cookie banner will ask you again.
