Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Your browser's local storage (localStorage) does a similar job. This page explains how halityesil.com uses both. For personal data in general, see the Privacy Policy.
The short version#
No tracking cookie is set without your consent. The server sends no cookies to readers. Google Analytics loads only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner.
What we use#

localStorage entries are never sent to the server; they stay in your browser.

These cookies let us see, in aggregate, which posts are read and which countries and devices visits come from. Google explains how it uses this data here.
How consent works#
- On your first visit a banner appears at the bottom of the page. "Accept" and "Decline" are equally prominent, and the banner doesn't block reading.
- Until you decide, or if you click "Decline", Google Analytics is not loaded and no request is sent to Google.
- If Global Privacy Control (GPC) is enabled in your browser, it counts as declining and the banner is not shown.
- Your choice is kept for 12 months. If our cookie use changes, the banner asks you again.
- You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw consent, the
_gacookies are removed from your browser; if any remain, you can delete them in your browser settings.
Embedded content#
Some posts embed content from YouTube, Vimeo, CodePen or GitHub Gist. YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). This content loads from the provider's servers, and the provider may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policy. Those cookies are not controlled by halityesil.com.
Managing cookies in your browser#
You can view and delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Clearing site data also removes your theme and cookie choices, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
